Music has always been a huge part of my life, and I have to thank my parents for that. From my dad getting me a 3/4 scale guitar when I was young (and my first real setup), to my mother buying my Metallica – …And Justice For All on cassette in second grade (why i have no idea).

Obligatory Gear Section

Read a full list of things I can at least remember buying, here.

I am a recovering gear nerd, but I still have some things left over. I’ve owned a stupid amount of guitars and amps in my life, never at once though, I just buy and sell.

VHT/Fryette One Hundred (Ultralead)

Made in 1993, this is an Ultralead before it was called such. 120 watts via KT-88. Awesome.

VHT/Fryette 100/CL

Got this cheap by buying a 5150 II as a package with it and selling off the 5150, now this has been traded for a PRS which is currently for sale.

VHT/Fryette 2×12″ FatBottom

I picked this thing up for $120 on Craigslist, tried not to do a jig too hard in front of the seller while walking away with it.

VHT/Fryette 4×12″ FatBottom

Bought a vintage Marshall for cheap and resold it to get this thing, its always fun to think about how you turned a few hundred bucks into something of more value. I didn’t like this cab so much with my other VHT head (now gone), but it sounds great with the Ultralead.

1983 Les Paul Custom

I got this guitar rather cheap off eBay in 2003/2004, and have used it exclusively since then. All the songs on this site were recorded with it, and I have declared my final testament to be cremated with it. Sorry future kid.

Stuff I use

  • D’Addario 11-49′s (currently using 12′s, and they’re a bit much)
  • Dunlop Jazz III (red) picks
  • Monster Cables (because they make no difference, just used to get them cheap)
  • Maxon OD-808

A list of awesome features to take up space here.

  • Tim Shaw pickups
  • fold out tuning pegs (best invention ever)
  • came with gibson chainsaw case but those things suck
  • original owners social security number is etched in the back
  • swapped for newer, much cooler gibson knobs
